Our Charitable Endeavours
Active Property Group believes in actively giving back to our community. In 2020 we launched our Active Giving Program (see below) and encourage our team to participate in fundraising activities and volunteering their time to worthy causes.
Active Giving Program
Active Property Group launched our Active Giving Program in 2020. As part of the Program, APG will donate $50 per investor to a worthy charity.
Each year we will select five charities doing wonderful things in the finance, property and lending space which we feel sits well with the values of Active Property Group. We then give our investors the opportunity to vote for the charity they feel is most deserving to receive the donation for that year.
In 2020, the charity that received the most votes was Habitat for Humanity. APG donated $4,450 on behalf of our investors to the organisation.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity Australia is part of Habitat for Humanity, an international not-for-profit which originated in Georgia, United States in 1976. Habitat for Humanity began as a grassroots effort driven by the vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. The housing organisation has since grown to become a leading global non-profit working in more than 70 countries. Since then it has been the organisation’s mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. This is what Habitat For Humanity’s Partnerships Manager had to say about the Active Giving Program donation:
"At Habitat Australia we are building community impact directly linking families and communities to financial support mechanisms, secure tenure and safe housing products and services, including access to basic services such as water, sanitation, waste management and electricity. Your donation will support a family like Rampati please see here her story. Thank you for changing lives with Habitat Australia!"
International Women’s Day – Dress For Success
At APG we believe in an equal world for all and this year we decided to support International Women's Day last Monday by donating to the Empower Hour initiative being run by Dress for Success - an organisation designed to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Empower Hour encourages individuals and companies to give one hour of their pay to directly help a woman on the path to employment and financial security, for herself and her dependents. The senior team at APG all pledged to give at least one hour of their pay. If you'd like to find out more, visit the website here.
St Vincent De Paul’s CEO Sleepout
Our Directors, Tim Hart and Peter Cuskelly, slept outdoors on 17th June 2021 as part of the CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need and help break the devastating cycle of homelessness. They raised a combined total of over $3,500 for St Vinnies.
